Research Proposal Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words - 2
Research Proposal Example This was the main traditional method of removing microorganisms from the hand prior to a surgical procedure. The norm was using antimicrobial soap and water to wash hands with chlorhexidine and iodine. The more recent is hand rubbing, which is the preparation of hand using the alcohol hand rub. The alcohol is rubbed to the hand to inactivate microorganisms and temporarily suppress their growth. The preparation used contains a mixture of alcohol and chlorhexidine gluconate. The traditional surgical hand asepsis was mainly done by using povidone iodine or chloerhexine based detergents. More recently, alcohol hand rub has been introduced to replace the traditional hand scrubbing using povidone iodine. Its introduction has been successful in has it has shown greater effectiveness, lesser irritation as compared to the traditional method and requiring less time to wash hands. The replacement of the traditional hand scrub with alcohol hand rub has been evident in some institution continental Europe while other countries such as Singapore has maintained the use of hand scrubbing. Despite the effectiveness of alcohol hand rub, studies have indicated lack of trust among the health care providers in the efficacy of alcohol hand rub over the additional hand scrubbing. This has made many health care providers across the world to continue using the traditional hand scrubbing instead of alcohol hand rubbing. Confirmation of the efficacy of the surgical hand rubbing over the traditional hand scrubbing will therefore help to convince the health care providers to use the surgical hand rubbing technique instead of the traditional surgical hand scrubbing. The increase in use of alcohol based hand rubs have resulted to a number of trial studies that compares the efficacy of alcohol hand rub against the traditional hand scrubbing using povidione iodine before surgery. Current evidence regarding surgical hand antisepsis stipulates that alcohol hand rubs

Talent Management Strategy Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Talent Management Strategy - Research Paper Example The paper also identifies how an organization must tailor its talent management strategy over time to respond to the dynamics of a business environment and also to the changing organizational structural and strategic requirements. The organization under this paperââ¬â¢s consideration is hypothetical small service driven company, with a total of 200 employees out of which 20 are leaders. The company provides business consultancy services to organizations, and is hypothetically named as ABC consultants. Discussion Talent management is the core function of Human Resource Planning and Execution (Henry, 1995). It is a process of designing strategy for identifying an organizationââ¬â¢s human capital requirements in pursue of business goals and objectives in the long run. Since human capital is the most fickle resource that an organization possesses, therefore, an organization faces a scarcity of talent in the market which gives birth to talent competition and rivalry (Price, 2007). T alent management transcends beyond the borders of human resource function to a holistic integration of framework for organizational values and cultural fit, competency and capability fit, and structural system fit. In order to formulate a talent management strategy for ABC Company in a manner that it serves as a competitive edge, it is crucial to first uncover the logic behind. Research has shown that for the past years the business organizations have witnessed and have embraced the fact that organizational talent has been the key driver of business value to the organization. There are two reasons for this, first is that the technological advancement has enabled and equipped businesses to acquire and replicate any and every organizational resource edge, systems, processes, marketing mix, technology etc; but only the human resource has been the vital intangible asset that cannot be replicated or acquired by the industry rivals. Secondly, human resource has been deemed as the ultimate deliverers of value to the customers and the only key sources for execution of strategies as planned and conceived by the business objectives. Thus especially for organizations which are operating globally, itââ¬â¢s crucial for them to sustain a consistent human resource body in diverse talent environment and manage it locally and internationally (Salaman, Storey, and Billsberry, 2005). Therefore, the power has eventually been shifted from organizations to employees and this has mandated organizations to link and integrate talent strategy with business processes, systems, technology and objectives. For designing an integrated TMS, the ABC firm must align its objectives and talent; it involves matching the organizational competencies with individual capabilities. Determination of organizationââ¬â¢s current and future competencies along the side of organizational talent help identifies the need for fresh talent or development of existing talent to alleviate potential. This crea tes a company-wide mindset for developing talent focused strategies that internalize social, market and organizational changes (Ford, Harding, and Stoyanova, 2010). Once a match has been established between talent and organizational objectives, the nest step in TM process is to develop a retention strategy for retaining the most promising experienced and knowledgeable talent leaders. At ABC firm 10% of the total work force is leading talent personnel which are prime targets of ABCââ¬â¢s succession management, development programs and retention strategy. But ABC must determine the leadership potential amongst the rest by assessing their engagement in organizational affairs, current performance,
Cultural discussion Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Cultural discussion - Research Paper Example Furthermore, the nurse must consider that Mrs. Nasserââ¬â¢s daughter already has high fever and needs immediate attention. She should accentuate to Mrs. Nasser that she cannot prescribe medicine without understanding the cause of her daughterââ¬â¢s symptoms. In addition, since her daughter is a minor, we cannot force Mrs. Nasser to authorize tests and procedures that she does not want for her daughter. The recommendations for the nurse are: 1) She should inform Mrs. Nasser that her daughter needs immediate clinical attention for her fever and discomfort and that she will try to get a Muslim female physician/gynecologist for her to appease her cultural reservations. If no Muslim female doctor is available, she will tell her that she will try to get a female doctor. If no female doctor is available, then they will find a male doctor and ensure that all examinations will be done with her mother present (Lo, 2009, p.335). The nurse can also remind Mrs. Nasser that ââ¬Ënecessity overrides the prohibition,ââ¬â¢ which is a rule of Islamic Sariah. 2) The nurse can suggest other kinds of examinations to rule out possible causes of diseases, such as physical examination, where if a male physician does it, he will do it with gloves on and in the presence of Mrs. Nasser. Other options are taking rectum samples and doing an ultrasound. 3) The nurse must be sincere and responsive to the cultural and religious beliefs of Mrs. Nasser. She must discuss these various laboratory testing options to her, so that she feels that she has the autonomy to make decisions for her daughter. This will build trust too, which is essential, noting that Mrs. Nasser is scared for her daughter, but wants to remain true to her cultural/religious beliefs. Reference Lo, B. (2009). Resolving ethical dilemmas: A guide for clinicians (4th ed.). Baltimore, MD: Lippincott Williams, & Wilkins. Cuban Discussion Food is considered part of peopleââ¬â¢s culture, which is why it is not surprisin g that Mrs. Demetilla Hernandez wants to continue cooking traditional Cuban dishes to her family. Cuban food affirms her Cuban identity. Cubans strongly value family needs too, which is why Mrs. Hernandez prefers to cook traditional Cuban dishes, though they might not be good for her, after being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. She might think that the happiness and satisfaction of her family is more important than her health. Furthermore, as a traditional Cuban woman, Mrs. Hernandez might have more faith in herbs than medicine. It is possible that she is used to drinking herbs to manage her former illnesses. In addition, there must be some language barriers too. She might not understand the lifestyle changes required to keep her blood sugar level close to normal. She needs to absorb the complications of unmanaged Type 2 Diabetes, such as heart and blood vessel disease, nerve damage (neuropathy), and foot damage, among others. Language barriers, cultural beliefs, and diet concerns m ust be addressed. The recommendations for the nurse are: 1) If she knows Spanish, she should speak in Spanish with Mrs. Hernandez and explain to her what Type 2 Diabetes is and what the possible complications are. If not, she should get a Spanish nurse to help her or refer her to a Spanish doctor who can help explain the lifestyle changes needed to manage her blood sugar l

MANAGING INTERNATIONAL TRADE Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
MANAGING INTERNATIONAL TRADE - Coursework Example History has shown that developing nations have substantially progressed with the essence of open market operations in international trade. It is not possible for a firm to gain competitive advantage and lead the market competition without the help of internationalization of business. However, it should be analyzed that without the help of strategic planning in business, it is not possible for firms to expand in the competitive international markets. Effective strategies, framed through strategic management principles, help a firm to progress in the long run. This project would consider ways in which the Indian (developing country) consumer goods firm of Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) would export or initiate its trade in the competitive market of Paris in France (European country) (Godrej, 2013). Research on the Assignment Topic The economy of France, unlike India, is highly developed. Almost all the business segments of the country have progressed (David, 1986). The majorit y of the business segments of the country are privatized, which reasons out the strong competition in the market of France between the companies. The per capita income level of the country has increased from $35900 to $36100 from 2010 to 2012 (CIA, 2013). The high and increasing level of per person income is responsible for the high standard of living in the country. The aggregate demand created by the domestic individuals in the nation, regarding consumer goods services, is high in France. This is because consumer care products are sort of comfort or luxury goods that have a positive income effect. With the rising income of the consumers, the demand for such goods would also increase. High demand in the market has increased the degree of competition of FMCG companies in France. The consumer goods firms already exhibit monopolistic competition with each other in the country. Thus, when the Indian company would formulate its export strategies, it has to clearly understand the busines s market of France. The Indian company should realize that the population of France is 61 million as recorded in 2012 (CIA, 2013). Thus, if it becomes successful in exporting its products in the affluent market of France, then it would enjoy a wide base of customers. Rather, the trade barriers in France are also few as the companyââ¬â¢s public authorities impose less restrictions on trade. The government of the country always encourages higher degree of privatization and international trade to augment its level of social welfare. Approximately $577.7 billion worth of goods and services are imported in France (CIA, 2013). This proves that the government of the country is very lenient towards foreign investments. The country has a high international reputation. However, Godrej must realize that the first language of the country is French, so it must have trading employees who are well-versed in French. The rate of taxation imposed by the French government is approximately close to 20% (CIA, 2013). Thus, on the whole, it can be concluded that the French market is a highly competitive, rich and liberal market. The strategic decision adopted by the company, for exports in France, must consider the market conditions of the same explained above. Background Among all the sectors in an economy, the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector is one

Should Early Education Have Forgien Language Taught Essay
Should Early Education Have Forgien Language Taught - Essay Example These views were also turned upside down later by Peal and Lambert that showed how superior it is learning two languages in the early age than one (Peal & Lambert,1962) . They conducted various experiments for children who started learning a second language in their early childhood and compared it to their achievements and academic skills in their later life. It was prevalent in the research that they were no less efficient, skilled and knowledgeable than those who did not learn a second language. Ã It is very essential for children to fully acquire their first language as researches show that if they do not, they may have problems in becoming an academic professional and fully cultured in their second language. This is because of the interrelationship of language and cognitive growth. When parents use their first language that they know the best with their children there are less chances of the interruption of the cognitive growth of the children. The research further argues that whatever learnt in the first language either knowledge, organization, development, skills, academic literacy etc will be transferred to second language when learnt. Children expand their language learning depending on how often they use and practice it. Parents who communicate more often in their first language develop better linguistic skills ability to express their needs, ideas and feelings. If children do not acquire their first language, it may become a problem for them in the future to express their thoughts efficiently (Collier, 1992). However, other argues that when children learn all new information and knowledge in their second language in later life,... According to the paper some researchers argue that cognitive skills must be completely acquired before the brain is fully matured. Learning a second language at any age is an amazing experience in different ways but children have the most to gain from a wonderful quest. Children involuntarily believe that learning a second language is fun to explore and play around. Children who are bilingual have a bigger perspective of the world and see the bigger picture from different contexts. This paper approves that global village has affected children in a way that they are exposed to multicultural and multinational society. Children whether immigrants or non-immigrant get a chance to express their selves to an outer world which has learning a second language other than their mother tongue as the most important determinant for cross-cultural relationships. Also, people tend to learn a second language for better opportunities and exploration of the world. The whole discussion showed that it is better to learn the language earlier in children life which comes up with lot of ease, benefits and opportunities that cannot be attained if the second language is learnt at adolescent or adulthood. Moreover, researches also showed that learning a second language helps in exercising the brain which helps in better understanding of things, perspectives and memory storage. Thus, people who are bilingual or multilingual found to have better opportunities, academic skills and knowledge .
